The badge of honour “Wrocław Freedom” is awarded to people who in the period of communist dictatorship before 1989, being members of Wrocław University community (employees or students) stood up for fundamental values such as freedom, truth, justice and human dignity. The badge of honour “Wrocław Freedom” may also be awarded posthumously.
In this edition the academic community wants to honour especially those members of our community who were involved in the opposition activity during the martial law. The badge of honour will be awarded by the Rector of the University of Wrocław upon the proposal of the Chapter. Members of the Senate of the University of Wrocław, Councils of Institutes and Faculties as well as groups of at least five University employees may apply for the badge.
