Baudelaire marathon

This year we celebrate the 200th anniversary of the birth of Charles Baudelaire (1821-1867). In the celebrations, held under the patronage of Klub Dziewniętnastowieczników (eng. the Club of Nineteenth Century Scholars), Romance centres and student circles from all over the country will participate, including the Institute of Romance Studies of the University of Wrocław and Koło Naukowe Romanistów „À propos” (eng. the “À propos” Romance Studies Club). On their behalf, we would like to invite you to a jubilee marathon of reading the poet’s texts, which will take place on Friday, 5 November 2021, at 3 p.m. on the MS Teams platform. The programme will include not only poems from the famous “Flowers of Evil” but also Paris Spleen or Petits Poèmes en prose, excerpts from Baudelaire’s aesthetic writings and confidential diaries, as well as musical adaptations of his works performed by students.
