BEYOND LANGUAGE Conference 2022
BEYOND LANGUAGE is an international scientific conference bringing together researchers and scholars of different languages and cultures. This year's conference has been scheduled for 31 May and 1 June 2022. The organisers wish to point out, among other things, the need for research and description of linguistic minorities, endangered and disappearing languages, literatures and cultures, small languages, pidgin and creole, as well as narrowing the scope of research into cultural practices mediated by language and studies in contact linguistics and anthropological linguistics.
The conference aims to provide a basis for research in the following areas:
- endangered and disappearing languages, literatures and cultures,
- anthropological linguistics,
- studies on cultures and societies,
- cultural patterns in discursive practices,
- folk linguistics and folk anthropology,
- the mechanisms of change (and death) of language,
- ethnography of communication,
- research into small languages and linguistic vitality,
- field linguistics,
- translation studies.

The organisers of this year’s BEYOND LANGUAGE 2022 scientific conference are:

Ex-center of Olga Tokarczuk, Institute of Romance Studies, Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań (Interschool Individual Studies in the Humanities and Social Sciences and Nadnotecki Institute of Adam Mickiewicz University in Piła), Jagiellonian University in Kraków (Chair of Computer Linguistics), University of Warsaw (Faculty of Modern Languages), Committee for Philology of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Wrocław Branch, Università degli Studi di Roma “La Sapienza” and University of Bucharest (Faculty of Journalism and Communication Studies).
The event was held under the honorary patronage of an American publisher: Æ Academic Publishing of San Diego.
The papers of the speakers will be published in the Academic Journal of Modern Philology (ajmp.uni.wroc.pl/).
