GROWING UP IN PRL
What was childhood and adolescence in the People’s Republic of Poland like? Young people today who know the communist times only from books and stories became interested in this topic. As part of the “Information Technology. The history teacher’s digital workshop” in the teaching specialty, together with their teacher, professor Krzysztof Ruchniewicz, they have created an unusual project.
The project “Stawiam na PRL” is the work of a group of students of the third year of History at the University of Wrocław. It was scheduled for one semester. It consists of several parts: a website and a podcast. Students also run the project’s social media. An important part of the whole project is the organization of the exhibition entitled “Little worlds. Our workplace during the pandemic. “- The main goal of the project is to show the 1980s from the perspective of young people. Young people who grew up in this period and young people who know this period from family stories, books and films, that is us – students. We want to draw attention to how many perspectives we can look from at that time. Those perspectives will be presented not only by us. We are also recording a podcast, the next episodes of which are an opportunity to give the floor to the representatives of older generations, say the students.
