Shipments
If you receive a suspicious letter or parcel:
- do not open the parcel,
- do not shake, throw or smell it,
- cover it or place it in a plastic bag,
- wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water,
- call the police.
In most cases your information about an unopened letter or parcel will help the Police advise you on what to do. If the parcel does not meet certain criteria, the Police may advise you to dispose of it if you are worried about opening it.
The Fire Service accepts reports of hazardous substances for assessment and proper disposal. If you have any concerns call 997, 998 or from a mobile phone call 112.
