Dr Karolina Kremens, LLM – a Head of the Academic Excellence Hub – Digital Justice at the Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics at the University of Wrocław. Dr Kremens is the recipient of the 2016-2017 Fulbright Scholarship (University of Connecticut Law School, USA) and 2006-2007 Edward Barry McDougall Scholarship (University of Ottawa, Canada). Manager and participant of national (NCN Sonata, Sonata-bis, Opus) and international (JUST Programme, COST) research grants concerning guarantees of individual rights in criminal proceedings and the law of evidence. Author of the monograph Powers of the Prosecutor in Criminal Investigation (Routledge 2021). Since December 2020 she is a Rector’s Representative for Safety of Students and PhD students


The duties of the Rector’s Representative for Safety of Students and PhD students include:

  • providing factual assistance to people affected by a safety incident or information on how to obtain it quickly and effectively;
  • submitting motions to the appropriate authorities of the University of Wrocław to initiate explanatory proceedings against individuals who have committed an act that threatens the safety of students, PhD students and employees;
  • monitoring the safety situation and students’ sense of security and reacting to the safety threats reported by students, PhD students and employees of the University of Wrocław;
  • conducting promotional, informational, and educational activities in the scope of ensuring safety of students and PhD students.
