MBA at UWr? Sure!

Registration for the new all-university course 'MBA in Geology and Environmental Protection' has just started. The course is conducted by the Institute of Geological Sciences but is intended not only for students of geology. If you are interested in geology, resource management, environmental issues or just want to see what the MBA is all about, sign up!

Registration is open to all students of the University of Wrocław (I, II and III degree studies), regardless of the year of study or the type of study. You can sign up for the course via the Internet at the following address. Registration lasts until 17 October.

“MBA in geology and environmental protection” will be taught by practitioners with experience in geology, mining and environmental protection. The lecturers who will conduct this course are highly regarded managers, managing companies and public institutions. Among the lecturers are Prof. Krzysztof Szamałek, a long-term Deputy Minister of the Environment and Chief Geologist of the Country and Minister in the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland Aleksander Kwaśniewski (inaugural lecture on 26.10.2021), President of KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. Marcin Chludziński, Zbigniew Mikołajewski from Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo S.A. and Maciej Ptak, manager from McKinsey.

MBA stands for “Masters of Business Administration”. Over the years, studies in this field have been very popular both among those who want to develop their competences in management and those who want to explore new paths for their careers. “MBA in Geology and Environmental Protection” is the beginning of the development of the MBA sector at UWr. Due to the character of open lectures and free participation – it is worth checking out what the MBA is all about.


The lecture of “MBA in Geology and Environmental Protection” will be held on Tuesdays from 11:00 to 12:30 in the Hall of Prof. J. Rzewuski (Faculty of Physics and Astronomy) at pl. Maksa Borna 9. The subject includes 7 meetings on the dates: 26.10.2021, 9.11.2021, 30.11.2021, 21.12.2021, 04.01.2022, 11.01.2022 and 01.02.2022.

People from faculties other than the Faculty of Earth and Environmental Sciences, after registration, have to address requests to their dean’s authorities for permission to attend the classes and their credit in the course of study. The course “MBA in Geology and Environmental Protection” is to be completed by attending lectures and submitting an essay on one of the topics covered during the course; this will be recorded in the student’s diploma.
