Open Access Week in Wrocław University Library

Open Access Week is an annual event focusing on the theme of open access to science. It has an international character and is celebrated every year in October. This year it takes place between 25 and 31 October under the theme “It Matters How We Open Knowledge: Building Structural Equity”.

This theme is linked to UNESCO’s recommendations, which represent a landmark step towards establishing global goals, foundations and standards for open science. According to UNESCO’s guidelines, open science should embrace the diversity of knowledge, practices, methods, languages, topics and research outputs, responding to the needs of the entire scientific community as well as individuals and institutions outside the academy.

Wrocław University Library is also involved in the celebration of the Open Access Week. The library implements the idea of open access through the so-called Green Road and Gold Road. Details on the Library’s website.
