QS Ranking: University of Wrocław in the TOP 50 of EECA universities

We are the strongest in terms of making use of new technologies!

The University of Wrocław was ranked 49th in the QS EECA University Rankings 2022, which compares the best universities in Central and Eastern Europe & Central Asia.

The indicators of greatest importance in the QS ranking are, among others: academic reputation (30%), employer reputation (20%), the ratio of academic teachers to students (10%), international research networks (10%) and the number of publications per Faculty (10%). The ranking also takes into account Web Impact- the effectiveness with which institutions use new technologies, as well as the degree of internationalisation of academic staff at individual Faculties and the number of foreign students.

In comparison with last year, our University has improved its position by 9 places. Graduates of the University of Wrocław are more recognizable and their skills are rated higher by employers. We achieved a higher ratio of academic teachers to students. Publications by researchers from the University of Wrocław were cited more often in the period under review compared to the previous period. The indicator concerning  the number of publications per Faculty is also higher.

Our highest indicator is Web Impact – we achieved 33rd place in the ranking in terms of effectiveness with which we use new technologies. A strong point of the University of Wrocław is its recognition among academic staff compared to other universities in the region. Taking this indicator into account, we are currently in 37th place. Thanks to the activity of our research staff, this year we ranked 46th in as for the international research network indicator.

There were 27 Polish universities evaluated in the ranking, 6 of which made it into the top 50. The University of Wrocław took 5th place in Poland. As far as universities are concerned, only the Jagiellonian University and the University of Warsaw were ahead of us. The Jagiellonian University took 5th place in the QS EECA ranking. It was followed by the University of Warsaw in 6th place, the Warsaw University of Technology in 14th place and the Wrocław University of Science and Technology in 45th place.
