QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

REGISTRATION

Do I have to wait until my Matura exam results to register for university?
No, Matura exam results are not needed to register in the IRK system.

Does the order of registration matter?
No, the order of registration does not matter. However, we recommend that you do not put it off until the last minute.

How many fields of study can I register for?
There is no limit to the number of fields of study you can register for. Just remember that in order to take part in the recruitment process, you need to pay a recruitment fee of PLN 85 for each field of study.

Does the order of selected fields of study matter?
No, it does not matter.

Can I change my chosen field of study during the registration process?
Yes. All you have to do is deregister from your previously chosen field of study and register for a new one.

Do I enter my Matura exam results into the IRK system myself?
No. Matura exam results taken between 2006 and 2022 will be automatically downloaded from the National Matura exam Register. An exception to this is if the secondary school graduate has not given his/her consent to the processing of data for the purposes of the recruitment process in the declaration form for taking the Matura exam.

Will the results of the oral Matura exam be taken into account during recruitment?
No, only the results of the written Matura exam will be taken into account.

POINT THRESHOLDS

What are the credit thresholds for each field of study?
The University of Wrocław does not set minimum credit thresholds*. The list of candidates for admission will include those who received the highest number of admission points in the recruitment procedure. These candidates are admitted until the limit of places that has been set for the field of study is exhausted.
*except for selected field of study at the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science and the Faculty of Physics and Astronomy. Details can be found under the ZASADY (RULES) tab after searching for a particular field of study at www.rekrutacja.uni.wroc.pl.

What was the number of points of the last person on the list who got into, for example, psychology in the previous recruitment?
The University of Wrocław does not provide such information because each year the number of points that allow you to qualify for university can vary significantly.

PROCEDURES

How will I find out if I qualify?
Recruitment results will be announced on your IRK account. You can find information about when this will take place on the HARMONOGRAM (SCHEDULE) tab after searching for a particular field of study on www.rekrutacja.uni.wroc.pl.

Can I qualify for more than one field of study and decide which one I want to study only after the admission results?
Yes. You can qualify for more than one field of study, and once you have received your admission results, you can only submit your documents for one field of study of your choice.

I have a status of “qualified for admission” in the IRK system, but I want to withdraw from my studies. What should I do?
The status “qualified for admission” is an invitation to submit documents. If you do not submit these, this will automatically be treated as a withdrawal from your studies.

I have submitted my documents, but I still want to drop out of university. What should I do?
In this case, you should submit a written resignation from your studies (the template can be downloaded from the DOKUMENTY (DOCUMENTS) tab after searching for your field of study at www.rekrutacja.uni.wroc.pl) within 5 days of receiving the “candidate accepted” status to the email address dzialnauczania@uwr.edu.pl.

What are the second and third stages of recruitment?
In the second and third stage of recruitment, those who were placed on the reserve list in the first round have a chance to get admission. You do not need to confirm your willingness to participate or pay the recruitment fee again, as candidates who are placed on the reserve list in the first stage of recruitment will automatically be considered for subsequent rounds, should they occur.

Do I have to inform anyone if I want to take part in stage II or III of recruitment?
No. Participation in the second and third round of recruitment is automatic for those who participated in the first round.

Can I take part in the second and third rounds of recruitment if I did not take part in the first round?
No. The second and third round of recruitment applies only to those who have participated in recruitment from the beginning and registered in the IRK system before the first round. Those who have not done so must wait for the supplementary recruitment, if announced in case of vacancies.

What are the second and third stages of recruitment?
As some of the persons qualified for admission resign from the allocated place, persons from the reserve list are admitted.

If I get into a university in the first round and apply for it, but then it turns out that I get into my dream field of study in the second or third round, can I drop out of the first round?
Yes. In this case, you should submit a written resignation from the studies (template to be downloaded from the DOKUMENTY (DOCUMENTS) tab after searching for the field of study at www.rekrutacja.uni.wroc.pl) within 5 days of receiving the status “candidate accepted” to the email address dzialnauczania@uwr.edu.pl.

What is secondary recruitment?
Supplementary recruitment is the reopening of recruitment. This is a recruitment opportunity for those who did not participate in the first intake or did not get into the university.

Do I have to create a new account in IRK for additional recruitment?
Your previously created IRK account will still be active, so all you need to do is register for the reopened fields of study. However, those who did not participate in the first recruitment should create an account in IRK.

DOCUMENTS

When do you have to provide documents?
Deadline for submission of documents can be found under the HARMONOGRAM (SCHEDULE) tab after searching for a particular field of study at www.rekrutacja.uni.wroc.pl.

Where do you have to provide documents?
You can find the place of filing documents under the MIEJSCE SKŁADANIA (PLACE OF DOCUMENTS) tab after searching for a particular fields of study at www.rekrutacja.uni.wroc.pl.

What documents should I provide?
A list of documents can be found in the DOKUMENTY (DOCUMENTS) tab after searching for a particular fields of study at www.rekrutacja.uni.wroc.pl.

If I am on holiday/away/abroad on the submission deadline, can I submit my documents at a later date?
No. To get into university, you must ensure that you submit your documents at the right time and place. Remember that documents do not have to be submitted in person.

Do I have to submit documents in person?
No. The candidate can submit documents in three ways: in person, through a third party or by post or courier. In the case of delivery of documents by third parties, a power of attorney signed by the candidate is required (specimen can be downloaded from the DOKUMENTY-DOCUMENTS tab after searching for a particular field of study at www.rekrutacja.uni.wroc.pl). If documents are submitted by post or courier, a notarised certification of all photocopies of documents submitted is required.

Does a third party delivering documents on my behalf need an original or a notarised photocopy of my identity card or passport?
No. A power of attorney signed by the candidate is sufficient.

I am on the reserve list. Or do I have to submit documents?
No. Candidates who have been placed on the reserve list after the first round of recruitment should await the results of the second round. If they are then shortlisted, they will be obliged to submit their documents.

PHOTOGRAPH

Should the photograph for the ID card be the same as for the identity card?
Yes. Check out the details (link https://obywatel.gov.pl/wyjazd-za-granice/zdjecie-do-dowodu-lub-paszportu).

Do I still need to bring a hard copy photograph along with the documents?
No. Only an electronic photograph uploaded to the IRK system is required.

Can I upload an electronic photograph to the IRK system after the recruitment results?
Yes, but we recommend that you send it in advance, as approval from the university is required. If your photograph is rejected and you have to resubmit it for approval, you may have trouble printing your university application and submitting your documents by the deadline specified in the admissions schedule.

I have uploaded an electronic photograph, but I cannot print my university application because the photograph has to be approved first. How long does acceptance take?
Normally photographs are accepted on a rolling basis, but in exceptional situations this can take up to 3 working days.

RECRUITMENT FEE

Do I have to pay the application fee immediately after registering in the IRK system?
No. The recuitmant fee must be paid no later than the last day of registration for a particular field of study (see the HARMONOGRAM-SCHEDULE tab after searching for a particular field of study at www.rekrutacja.uni.wroc.pl).

If I apply for admission to more than one course, do I pay an admission fee for each field of study?
Yes. An recruitment fee must be paid for each field of study. This can be done with a single payment.

How can I make a recruitment payment?
Payment can be made by e-transfer, bank transfer, at the post office or by Paybynet fast payment. It is not possible to make the payment in person at the university premises.

What should I write in the title of the transfer?
The title of the transfer is irrelevant, as the fee will be paid to the applicant’s individual sub-account. We propose to write e.g.: “recruitment fee”.

Must the transfer be made from your own account or can it be made from your parent’s account?
It does not matter from which account the transfer is made. It is important that the money is credited to the candidate’s individual sub-account indicated in IRK.

Will my account show confirmation that I have paid the recruitment fee and when will this happen?
Yes, confirmation will be visible on your IRK account once payment has been posted, which usually takes a few working days. Remember that the date of the transfer is decisive, not the date it is posted.

I have paid the recruitment fee but it is still not recorded in IRK. Why?
This is because posting of payments usually takes a few working days. But remember that it is the date the transfer is made, not the date it is posted, so if the transfer was sent to the correct account number and before the IRK system closing date, wait for the fee to be posted to your online account.

What is the priority of assigning a recruitment fee to a field of study?
In the case of payment of the recruitment fee in the amount lower than it results from the number of selected courses, there is a possibility of independent determination of the fee allocation priorities, no later than on the day of closing the IRK registration system.

Do I have to pay the recruitment fee again for participation in rounds II and III?
No.

In what situations can I receive a refund of the recruitment fee?
A candidate may apply for a refund of the recruitment fee in the case of:

  • registering for fewer fields of study than the fee paid on the individual account in the IRK system
  • documented in writing, unforeseeable, exceptionally important reasons for absence from the entrance examination,
  • failure to start a field of study;
  • unjustified payment of a fee

If I do not get into a field of study, can I get a refund of the recruitment fee?
No.
