The Lower Silesian Science Festival has been held annually for 23 years and is the largest event of this type in Poland. Together with the lecturers and employees of Wrocław universities, the organizers prepare every year a series of free popular science meetings for each age group. Lectures, workshops and shows concern all fields of science and take place within the walls of Wrocław universities as well as schools and cultural institutions in 11 Lower Silesian cities (Wrocław, Bystrzyca Kłodzka, Ząbkowice Śląskie, Bolesławiec, Legnica, Wałbrzych, Zgorzelec, Lubin, Głogów, Dzierżoniów, Jelenia Góra). Even during the pandemic, festival events were not cancelled but they were carried out on-line.
– We show that it is worth sharing knowledge and scientific achievements with the society. We convince people that science is not a hermetic world of universities, but something that surrounds us every day. Through play, we show children the phenomena and laws of science, young people – that it is worth learning and it does not have to be a boring job, adults – that we can gain knowledge throughout all of our lives – emphasize the organizers.
The creators of the festival are raising money for the organization of the 24th edition of the Lower Silesian Science Festival.
We encourage all interested parties – natural persons, as well as companies and institutions – who have already participated in the Festival, who would like to take part in it, but also those who want others to get to know us, to make voluntary contributions to: University of Wrocław – Lower Silesian Science Festival to the account of the University of Wrocław created especially for this purpose (Lower Silesian Science Festival)
