University Dragons’ Den

University Dragons’ Den is a new, innovative subject for enterprising students. The subject will consist of ten classes (20 teaching hours in total): eight classes of a workshop character and two in the formula of project presentation.

Thanks to participation in the subject University Dragons’Den, you will:

  • learn what business modelling is and why it is important in establishing a startup,
  • learn the principles of creating and developing new, innovative ideas,
  • learn innovative ways to analyse markets and customers,
  • learn how to scale and parameterize your business,
  • learn about the principles of commercialisation of knowledge and technology,
  • learn how to seek funding for your projects,
  • understand what rules the market is following, you will get to know the way potential customers think,
  • learn to work in a team (participants during the first classes will be divided into groups of 2-3 people, who will create and present the final project together).

All this during practical, interactive classes led by business practitioners!

On 11 January 2022, we will launch the registration for the subject in USOS!

What do you need to do?

  1. From 11 to 30 January 2022, you need to register for the subject via USOS. At the same time, you need to send a project card (by 30 January 2022) containing an initial description of your idea to leszek.kwiecinski2@uwr.edu.pl. You can find the project card under the following link.
  2. Your business idea, described in the application form, will be evaluated by a Committee (consisting of: Rector’s representative for the Centre for Innovation and Knowledge Transfer at the University of Wrocław, dr hab. Leszek Kwieciński, prof. of the UWr, dr Kamil Bromski, the subject moderator, mgr Dominika Buczkowska, the manager of the Centre for Student and Doctoral Student Activities) and by 11 February 2022, you will be informed by email whether you have qualified for the subject. People qualified for the subject will be obliged to deliver Appendix No. 1 to the Regulation No. 174/2021 of the Rector of the University of Wrocław of 5 November 2021 on the introduction of extra-curricular subjects: “Entrepreneurship – success stories” and “University Dragons’ Den” to the address of the Career Office, ul. Kuźnicza 49a Kuźnicza (Monday – Friday 8.30 – 15.30, in person or by post) until 4 March 2022.
  3. The names of those not qualified will be removed from USOS. All unqualified people are welcome to participate in future editions!
  4. Non-students of UWr are allowed to participate in the course according to the rules set out in Regulation No. 174/2021.
