The University of Wrocław is among the top ten best public universities in Poland according to the Perspektywy 2022 Ranking of Higher Education Institutions, published today. We have moved up three places, last year we were in 13th place. When it comes to universities, we are again in 4th place. Ahead of us are only Warsaw University, Jagiellonian University in Kraków and Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań.
In the general classification of universities, in addition to the universities mentioned above, we were overtaken by medical universities and technical universities. The top ten are as follows:
1. Warsaw University – 100 points
2. Jagiellonian University in Kraków – 99.4 points
3. Warsaw University of Science and Technology – 84. points
4 = Adam Mickiewicz University of Poznań – 80.9 points
4 = Stanisław Staszic AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków – 80.4 points
6. Gdańsk University of Technology – 78.4 points
7= Medical University of Gdańsk – 72.8 points

10= University of Wrocław – 70.9 points

Ranking methodology is based on 7 main categories: prestige (12%), graduates on the labour market (12%), innovation (8%), scientific potential (15%), scientific efficiency (28%), education conditions (10%), internationalisation (15%).
The University of Wrocław is recognizable and increasingly international
The strongest side of the University of Wroclaw is prestige and in this category we are on 7th place among all universities. This indicator is calculated on the basis of the university’s reputation among academic staff and international recognition (the university’s position in the most important global rankings). We are also strong in the category internationalisation. In this respect we ranked 8th in the country. We have achieved such a high position, among other things, by systematically increasing the number of study programmes in English, employing more and more foreign researchers, publishing in collaboration with foreign researchers (ICI- Collaboration Impact) and participating in the European University (Arqus). The third strong category of UWr is scientific potential in this respect we are in 10th place.
What is worth studying at UWr?
Both scientists and humanists will find something for themselves. When it comes to the best majors at UWr, computer science (MA) is again in the lead. As last year, it is in 3rd place in Poland. Political science, special pedagogy and physics moved into 3rd place. Psychology, geography, administration, law, foreign philologies, geology, biotechnology are in the 4th place. In 5th place are: pedagogy, Polish studies, astronomy, and chemistry. In 6th place are: archaeology, biology, journalism and communication, English studies, mathematics, and cultural studies. In the 7th place are history and fields of study of security.
