Students will help with homework, prepare lessons and materials for schools. They will help in the functioning of educational institutions. In this way, they will be able to complete their apprenticeships, and Wrocław schools will benefit from their work. Do you think that is a good idea? Then join us and take part in this amazing action. Students who are capable of performing remotely are waiting for applications. Write to

In the light of the growing social crisis and the intensity of the pandemic, we are resuming activities that were appreciated in June by the Mayor of Wrocław, Jacek Sutryk, as one of the manifestations of the university’s commitment. The “Older Brother Older Sister” program enabled students to complete their internships remotely. What is more, there are over 60 children that have received a support.

Contact by phone and via social media, conversations, doing homework together, monitoring Librus are all simple, but extremely important activities that were an attempt to secure the child’s welfare in conditions of its threat.

There were frequent signals regarding the need for technical support. Regarding the fact that the child is deprived of a hot meal that was being provided at school. Regarding the fact that when there are four of them in one room, even when everyone is working on their device, the noise does not allow them to focus.

Thanks to the “visible hand” action, the support of the President and city councilors, business and individual donors, as well as the activity of non-governmental organizations, we were also able to help here.

Right now, when the sad, cold days of this tenderness (thinking as a Nobel laureate) and warmth, and also the rebuilding of the community are coming, we need even more than in spring and summer. Hence the initiative of Vice-Rector Patrycja Matusz and Representative for Social Responsibility Kamila Kamińska-Sztark, who are trying to respond to these needs, but they also remember about the necessity to pass the internship by students.

There has been established an active partnership, to which we invite other organizations and businesses. We undertake the implementation of a support program for students from Wrocław schools and non-governmental organizations in Lower Silesia through the implementation of remote unpaid internships for students of the University of Wrocław. The project is partially subsidized by the City of Wrocław by a grant: UCZElnia during the days of COVID implemented by the Critical Education Association together with the University of Wrocław.

The idea for students to remotely support schools and students was recommended for schools by the Director of the Department of Education, Jarosław Delewski. Social Responsibility is about sharing by those who have more with those who have less. That those who are stronger take care of those who are weaker, happier – sadder, and healthier those who are sick.

Groups that are particularly vulnerable in this tough time are foreign-language children and youth. There are over 3,000 of them in Wrocław’s schools. They come from 45 countries. A great initiative, which are the preparatory classes operating in our city, meets the needs of many of them. However, the challenges faced by these children, young people, and their families are numerous.

We invite students of philology and foreign students to get involved in the project: it can be a great opportunity to improve the language. Back in May, we were teaching math in Russian, English, and Ukrainian, and when the mother of a Spanish-speaking girl called, we were able to find help in this language as well.

Let’s be together! Let’s look after each other. It is often hard to judge who is benefiting more in this task! Helping children and young people is just one of the possible forms of support through student internships. More options are listed below.

Students can engage in:

1. Remote assistance in doing homework and monitoring the home situation of NGO pupils

2. Preparation of distance learning materials for schools

3. Preparation of videos, posts, graphics
